Okay so our dorms are about a 20-25 minute walk into the city. This means lots of walking. It woud not be so bad but because i decided to look cute (and French) instead of comfortable, i now have several blisters and my feet are not happy with me.
Anyways we decided to go dancing on Friday night, but were not sure where the discotech was. So we walkd around for 2 hours before finding this extremely shaddy underground club. The people were wearing metalica shirts and had long hair as they danced to American 80's music. No joke, they played Ghost Busters, Queen, Video killed the radio store...and more! It was so funny and quite amuzing. I must say that for all the talk about the French hating Americans, i have yet to expereince this. The people here are nice and friendly. I know my biggest challenge is going to be learning the language. I know its a matter of confidence, but it is very intimidating. I have found some people that speak it better than me so i have been hanging out with them. I do understand that i have to break out of my shell eventaully so you will all be proud, i asked for a napkin all by myself :) hehe
We start all our orientations this week and are going to take a trip to Marsille. It is easy to feel overwhelemd so i am taking one day at a time and trying to stay positive. I have been doing yoga a lot and actually found a studio.
Well i guess that is al for now. Till next time....
