It's been a few weeks since South Africa beat England in the Rugby world cup, but i wanted to post some pictures of the Semi Finals. It was France vs. England and so we decided to get dressed up and join our French friends in cheering on the Bleus. We ended up sitting at a table with a bunch of English folk just to make the game more interesting. If i would have known the outcome of the game i probably would have sat elsewhere and maybe kept my mouth shut. I actually learned the first two sentences of the French national Anthem, though it did not seem to help. I just have to comment on the incredible atmosphere. It's like nothing i have ever experienced and the commodity among the fans was so warm and friendly. We actually got to the pub three hours before the start of the game just to make sure we got seats. And you know the rule you can't sit at a bar without drinking. So we drank!!! I am not one to drink a lot but in the Spirit of Rugby I couldn't pass up the opportunity. So the outcome was that France lost :( It was heartbreaking! They were ahead pretty much all game and then with 5 minutes left they choked. It was quite unfortunate. The week before when they had beat New Zealand the celebration did not end for hours, but now the energy was so depressing. It was a sad way to end the night, but being a part of the fans was fun.
